beach time

October 12, 2010

We took Sam to the Mount for a little rest and relaxation before ABS begins. It wasn’t warm, but it was beautiful.

light

There is always something new to be in awe of. Yesterday it was the way the sun came through the trees next to the lodge.

right now

October 1, 2010

Joe is working on a friends house (building an addition), Beth is helping at a woman’s conference at Monovale and today the sun has come out. There is new hope summer might come to this island after all.

Next week we start ABS preparation and Sam arrives!

shoot out

October 1, 2010

Some nights after work we go under the lodge and challenge each other to a little shooting competition.

a whole month has passed

October 1, 2010

Sorry for our silence. Everything is great here. We simply don’t have access to internet and when we do it’s all business.

That, and it’s been raining the whole month. Talk about stifling the desire to take photos.

You haven’t missed much.

For now we paint:

We call home:

We make dinner: and in this case experiment with travel friendly gluten free food for ABS

We watch movies: Yea for $1 Tuesdays at the movie store

We read:

Ummm…that is kind of it. Well, we grocery shop and occasionally visit friends for dinner.

As you can see it is all very glamorous.

work

September 3, 2010

We are both working now. Just a few weeks of work to make sure we can pay our way home.

Joe is working on a job site building a house. Actually, he is painting the entire outside of the house. Black house, white trim. But good pay. Joe is happy to be supporting his family again.

Beth is painting a small office down the road. Yellow walls, white trim. Volunteer. Beth is happy not to be sitting at home twiddling her thumbs.

Work is good.

(even when you get oil based paint on your face that doesn’t wash off)
